– What is Isugid Pinoy!? –
(ee-soo-ghid), is ‘tell it Pilipino!’ in Bisayan language. As part of Kularts’ Making Visible Program, our 2017-19 Isugid Pinoy! is a sequential art project highlighting the vibrant works of members of SOMA Pilipinas: Filipino Cultural Heritage District. Lead by our dynamic duo of illustrators: Don Aguillo & Raf Salazar.

City College of San Francisco – CCSF Library co-sponsored by the Philippine Studies Department will be exhibiting and hosting an opening party for the visual arts projects created by Isugid Pinoy’s Don Aguillo and Raf Salazar with Kularts; Kimberley Acebo Arteche & Weston Teruya with Kearny Street Workshop; and Jerome Reyes with SOMCAN.

All three projects are SOMA-centric artistic collaborations working in the South of Market neighborhood, funded by the Creative Work Fund.

FIRST LOOK @ ‘Isugid Pinoy’ Poster Artwork | Open to the public @ UNDISCOVERED SF, NOV 17

Team #IsugidPinoy is READY to share NEW poster artworks from our 2017-19 visual arts project with illustrators, Don Aguillo & Raf Salazar, entitled “ISUGID PINOY: Stories in Pictures and Words!” (ee-soo-ghid), is ‘tell it Pilipino!’ in Bisayan language. Under Kularts Making Visible Program, it highlights the vibrant works of members of SOMA Pilipinas: Filipino Cultural District.

At next week’s UNDISCOVERED SF Night Market Kularts, with Don and Raf will be unfurling SIX poster poster artworks inspired by members & staff from our pamilya South of Market-based organizations: Bayanihan Community Center, Veteran’s Equity Center, Arkipelago Books, West Bay, Arkipelago Books, Bindlestiff Studio, & SOMCAN.
