What is a Workshop Sampler!?

Have you ever wanted to learn the basics of Philippine traditional dances or even martial arts? OR wanted to dabble in the visual arts realm from graphic storytelling (comics) or shadow puppetry? Kularts’ 2017-18 Workshop Sampler offers a NEW line-up once a month, on a Saturday, 12 – 5:30, at Bayanihan Community Center.

In one afternoon get an intro course into at least 3 (sometimes 4) different art genres, all led by Pilipino local artists! In 2017 we teamed up with a roster of awesome instructors to teach a diverse offering of workshops from traditional Pilipino arts to contemporary styles:

Don Aguillo* (Graphic Storytelling)
Aureen Almario (Improv, Shadow Puppetry)
Gura Michelle Bautista (Kali)
Jason Bayani (Writing & Performance)
Joe Cascasan (Improv)
Herna Cruz-Louie (Rondalla)
Bernard Ellorin, PhD (Sama and Tausug Music)
Granny Cart Gangstas (Sketch Comedy Writing)
Kristian Kabuay (Baybayin)
Guro Gregory Manalo (Corto Kadena Largo Mano Eskrima system of Maestro Sonny Umpad)
Jonathan Mercado (Hip-Hop Dance, Sagayan Dance)
Rafael ‘Raf’ Salazar* (Graphic Storytelling)
Eric Solano (Cordillera Dances)
Aileen Suzara (Philippine Culinary)
